Announcing the WINNER of the 2010 Harley Davidson Street Glide
Congradulations to Bill and Maureen Kussler!! Ticket# 1171
Maureen was a dispatcher at Palm Beach County (FL) Sheriffs Office for over 10 years, and has numerous siblings and in-laws in law enforcement as well. Bill retired with over 25 years in law enforcement with Delray Beach Police Department and Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office; he also has over 30 years in the US Army Reserve, from which he is about to retire with the rank of Sergeant Major, and his primary MOS (job) is Military Police; he is currently the Security Manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. And he has been riding motorcycles for over 40 years!
"Winning the motorcycle from your
organization is special to us not only because of our ties to the law enforcement community, but also because we truly understand the value of your services. One of our good friends -
Deputy Kevin Mathews - lost his life in 1992, in the line of duty on a motorcycle escort detail; ironically, we were in Daytona Beach at Bike Week when we got the
news. Bill bought his first Harley from a colleague, Sergeant Rocky Hunt, who was murdered in 1993 by a group of would-be thieves when he responded to an alarm call. And another tragedy that
affects Bill to this day...in 1974, he took a call from fellow Delray Beach Patrolman John Kennedy, so he could catch up on paperwork. While sitting in his patrol car, doing just that, he
was shot to death by a criminal who just wanted to kill a policeman." Maureen Kussler
